Every year Indian Ladder Farms opens the barn doors wide to welcome students, teachers and other visitors.  You are invited to come and visit the farm with your class or group to participate in one of our field trips. All tours are customized to the needs of the group; we are happy to accommodate any special needs you may have

The cost for tours is $5.00 per child.  There is no charge for teachers or chaperones.

Baby Farm Animal Tour Come and meet our babies in the Baby Animal Barn.  Learn the life cycles and habits of baby turkey poults, chicks, ducklings, bunnies, lambs, goat kids, piglets and calves.  Get up close and personal with the animals.  In the Learning Center, the tour continues to explore the interdependence between animals and people. Students will experience different animal products and their uses. This tour is ideal for students discovering how the world around them interconnects. (available Spring- June 7-22, 2008)

On the Apple Farm Tour, students will hike up Mount Mac, learn about Johnny Appleseed, stroll in the orchard, take a behind-the-scenes visit to the packhouse and cider press, and of course, interact with our farm animals. All the while, they are learning about farming, where their food comes from and caring for the land, local history, and so much more.  Each student will receive a glass of cider and an apple.  Each class will receive a ½ bushel of our own fresh apples to take home.  (available mid August –November)

Join our farm beekeeper for a Honey Bee and Pollination Tour.  Meet at the observation hive where students observe and interpret honey bee behavior. During our interactive presentation, students will learn about pollination, honey bee anatomy, the jobs in the hive and how the honey bee communicates. (available any time, best in spring or fall)

We welcome the opportunity to tailor your tour to your particular interests or needs. We have a great deal of experience customizing our tours to meet curriculum objectives for students from preschool to high school.
